Quick Summary
Yes, Jesus is present in every book of the Bible. The Old Testament announces his coming through promises, figures, and prophecies, while the New Testament reveals his life, death, resurrection, and reign. From Genesis to Revelation, all of Scripture testifies to Jesus Christ as the center of God's plan of redemption.
The Bible presents itself as God’s word to humanity (Matthew 24:35; 2 Timothy 3:16). Through Scripture, God reveals who He is, what He has done, what He values, and how His plan of redemption unfolds. Within that unified story, Jesus Christ stands at the center. He is called “the Word” (John 1:1), “the image of the invisible God” (Colossians 1:15), and the one in whom all God’s fullness dwells (Colossians 1:19). For this reason, Jesus is not limited to the New Testament alone. The entire Bible ultimately points toward Him (John 5:39).
From the opening chapters of Genesis to the closing vision of Revelation, Scripture moves toward Christ. Although the Son of God entered human history at a specific moment, He is active throughout both Testaments. The Old Testament reveals humanity’s need for a Savior and anticipates His coming through promises, patterns, and prophetic imagery. At times, He even appears directly in pre-incarnate manifestations, often called Christophanies (Genesis 16:7–14; Genesis 22:11–18; Judges 5:23; 2 Kings 19:35; Daniel 3:25). The New Testament then records His incarnation, His saving work, and His continuing reign as history moves toward restoration (Acts 3:21; Revelation 21:1).
Seen this way, Jesus can be traced through every book of the Bible.
