1 Corinthians
Church Unity and Order
infoBook Overview
Imagine a church where everything is going wrong. That was the church in Corinth. They were divided by favorite leaders, they were suing each other in court, and their worship services were chaotic. Paul writes this letter as a corrective manual. He tackles tough issues like sexual immorality and marriage, but he also gives us some of the most beautiful passages in Scripture.
This is where we find the famous "Love Chapter" (Chapter 13) often read at weddings, and the definitive explanation of the physical resurrection (Chapter 15). Paul had to be stern with them, but how did they react to his correction? We find out in the emotional follow-up letter, 2 Corinthians.
