Zechariah
Messianic Hope
infoBook Overview
Zechariah worked alongside Haggai, but while Haggai was practical, Zechariah was a visionary. His book is filled with dream-like images—flying scrolls and olive trees—to encourage the people that their small rebuilding efforts were part of a massive cosmic plan.
He contains incredible prophecies about the Messiah, describing a king who comes riding on a donkey. Zechariah gave us high hopes, but a century later, the people grew cold again. This leads us to the final debate found in Malachi.
