Haggai
Rebuild the Temple
infoBook Overview
We are now in the post-exile period. The Jews have returned to Jerusalem, but they have become lazy, building their own houses while leaving God's Temple in ruins. Haggai acts like a construction foreman. He challenges them: "Is it time for you to live in paneled houses while this house remains a ruin?"
His sermons worked, and the people got back to work. Haggai focused on the stones of the Temple, but his partner focused on the spiritual dreams surrounding it, which we read in Zechariah.
