Colossians
Christ's Supremacy
infoBook Overview
The church in Colossae was small, but it was facing a big problem. A strange "philosophy" was spreading that combined Jewish legalism with the worship of angels and secret knowledge. Paul writes to smash these bad ideas by showing the Supremacy of Christ. He argues that Jesus isn't just a part of the puzzle; He is the image of the invisible God and the creator of all things.
Paul tells them, "You don't need secret codes or strict diets; you have Christ, and He is enough." While Colossians corrects false teaching, Paul's earlier letters focused heavily on the question of Jesus' return, which we see in 1 Thessalonians.
