In the New Testament, our ultimate purpose is revealed as union with Jesus Christ. We are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them (Ephesians 2:10). The Christian's supreme calling is first relational: called to belong to Christ, to be conformed to His image, and to love God and neighbor. From that primary calling flows secondary vocations: honoring God in family, diligent labor, church service, and spreading the Gospel of the Kingdom.
