1THEN Sisennes the deputy of Caelesyria, and Phenice, and Sathrabuzanes, and their felowes, obeying the thinges which king Darius had decreed,stylus2did very diligently attend vpon the holy workes, doing worke with the ancientes, and the rulers of the sanctuarie.stylus3And the holy workes prospered, Aggeus and Zacharias the prophetes prophecying.stylus4And they finished al thinges by the precept of our Lord the God of Israel, and by the counsel of Cyrus, and Darius, and Artaxerxes kinges of the Persians.stylus5And the holy house was finished the three and twenteth day of the moneth of Adar, in the sixt yeare of Darius king of the Persians.stylus6And the children of Israel, and the Priestes, and Leuites, and the rest that were of the captiuitie, which were ioyned, did according to the thinges writen in the booke of Moyses.stylus7And they offered for the dedication of the temple of cur Lord, bulles an hundred, rammes two hundred, lambes foure hundred:stylus8and kiddes for the sinnes of al Israel twelue, according to the number of the tribes of Israel.stylus9And the Priestes and Leuites stood clothed with stoles by tribes, ouer al the workes of our Lord the God of Israel, according to the booke of Moyses: & the porters at euerie gate.stylus10And the children of Israel, with them that were of the captiuitie, held the Pasch, the fourtenth moone of the first moneth, when the Priestes and the Leuites were sanctified.stylus11Al the children of the captiuitie were not sanctified together: because al the Leuites were sanctified together.stylus12And al they of the captiuitie that weres anctifie, immolated the Pasch for their brethren the Priestes, and for themselues.stylus13And the children of Israel did eate, that came of the captiuitie, al that had separated themselues from the abominations of the nations of the land, seeking our Lord.stylus14And they celebrated the feast of azymes seuen dayes, reioycing in the sight of our Lord:stylus15because he had turned the counsel of the king of the Assyrians toward them, to strengthen their handes to the workes of our Lord the god of Israel.stylus
