1AND Iosias made a Pasch in Ierusalem to our Lord: and immolated the Phase the fourtenth moone of the first moneth,stylus2appointing the Priestes by courses of dayes, clothed with stoles in the temple of our Lord.stylus3And he spake to the Leuites, the sacred seruantes of Israel, that they should sanctifie themselues to our Lord, in setting the holy arke of our Lord, in the house which Nabuchodonosor the king of Babylon builded:stylus4You shal no more carie it vpon your shoulders: and now serue our Lord your God, and take the charge of that nation Israel, & according to the houses of your kindredes and tribes,stylus5according to the writing of Dauid king of Israel, and according to the magnificence of Salomon his sonne, al being in the temple, and according to your mothers part of the principalitie of you the Leuites, which stand before your brethren the children of Israel.stylus6Immolate the Pasch, and prepare the hostes for your brethren, and doe according to the commandment of our Lord, which was geuen to Moyses.stylus7And Iosias gaue for the people that was found there, of lambes and kiddes of the flocke thirtie thousand, of calues three thousand: these thinges were geuen of the kinges substance according to the promise to the people, and to the Priestes and Leuites.stylus8And Helcias, and Zacharias, and Iehelus, the ouerseers of the house, gaue to the Priestes to make the Pasch, two thousand six hundred shepe, and calues three hundred.stylus9And Iechonias, and Semeias, and Nathanael his brother, and Asabias, and Oziel, and Coraba, gaue to the Leuites for the Pasch, fiue thousand shepe, and calues seuen hundred.stylus10And when these thinges were done, the Priestes and Leuites stood decently, hauing azimes by the tribes,stylus11and according to the partes of the principalitite of their fathers, before the people, to offer to our Lord, as it is writen in the booke of Moyses: and so at the morning.stylus12And they rosted the Pasch with fire, as it behoued: & they boyled the hostes in pottes and kettles with good sauour,stylus13and brought them to al those of the people. And afterward they prepared for them selues, and for the Priestes.stylus14For the Priestes offered the fatte vntill it was late: and the Leuites prepared for themselves, and for their brethren the children of Israel.stylus15And the sacred singers, the children of Asaph, were in their order, according to the appointment of Dauid, and Asaph, and Zacharias, and Iedithun, who was of the kinges house.stylus16And the porters at euerie gate, so that none passed his owne gate: for their brethren the Leuites prepared for them.stylus17and there were accomplished those thinges, which perteyned to the sacrifice of our Lord. In that day they held the Pasch,stylus18and offered holocaustes vpon the altar of our Lord, according to the commandment of king Iosias.stylus19And the children of Israel, that were found present, held the Pasch at that time, and the festiual day of Azymes seuen dayes.stylus20And there was not celebrated such a Pasch in Israel, from the time of Samuel the prophet.stylus21And al the kinges of Israel celebrated not such a Pasch, as did Iosias, and the Priestes and the Leuites, and the Iewes, and al Israel that were found in their dwelling at Ierusalem.stylus22In the eighteenth yeare of the reigne of Iosias, was this Pasch celebrated.stylus23And the workes of Iosias were directed in the sight of his Lord, in a ful hart of pietie.stylus24And the thinges that concerned him, are writen in the former times, of them that sinned, and were impious against our Lord aboue euerie nation and people, and that wounded him in sense, and the wordes of our Lord rose vp vpon Israel.stylus25And after al this acte of Iosias, Nabuchodonosor the king of AEgypt came to wage battel in Charcamis vpon Euphrates: and Iosias went forth to meete him.stylus26And the king of AEgypt sent to him, saying: What is there betwen me and thee, king of Iurie?stylus27I am not sent of our Lord God against thee: for my battel is vpon Euphrates: and now our Lord is with me, & our Lord is with me hastening: depart, and be not against our Lord.stylus28And Iosias returned not himself to his chariote, but enforced himself to wage battel with him, not attending the word of Ieremie the prophet, from the mouth of our Lord:stylus29but ioyned battel with him in the filde of Meceddo: and the princes came downe to king Iosias.stylus30And the king sayd to his seruantes: Cary me away from the battel, for I am very weake. And forth with his seruantes tooke him out of the troupe.stylus31And he went vp into his second chariote: and being brought to Ierusalem, he dyed and was buried in the monument of his fathers.stylus32And in al Iurie they mourned for Iosias: and Ieremie the prophet lamented Iosias, and the chiefe men with the wemen lamented him vnto this day: and this was geuen out to be done alwayes for al the kinred of Israel.stylus33These thinges are writen in the booke of the histories of the kinges of Iurie: and euerie acte of the doing of Iosias, and his glorie, and his vnderstanding in the law of our Lord.stylus34and the thinges that were done of him, and those that are not seene, are related in the booke of the kinges of Israel and Iurie.stylus35And they of the nation taking Iechonias the sonne of Iosias, made him king for Iosias his father, when he was three and twentie yeares old.stylus36And he reigned in Iurie and Ierusalem three monethes: and then the king of AEgypt deposed him that he should not reigne in Ierusalem.stylus37And he muclted the nation an hundred talentes of siluer, and a talent of gold.stylus38And the king of AEgypt made Ioacim his brother king of Iurie and Ierusalem.stylus39And he bound the magistrates of Ioacim: and taking him Zaraces his brother, he brought him out of AEgypt.stylus40Ioacim was fiue and twentie yeares old when he reigned in the land of Iurie and Ierusalem: and he did euil in the sight of our Lord.stylus41And against him came vp Nabuchodonosor the king of Babylon, and binding him with a chaine of brasse, he brought him into Babylon.stylus42And Nabuchodonosor tooke of the sacred vessels of our Lord, and caried them away, and consecrated them in his temple in Babylon.stylus43But of his vncleannesse, and of his impietie it is writen in the booke of the times of the kinges.stylus44And Ioacim his sonne reigned for him: for when he was made king he was eighteen yeares old.stylus45and he reigned three monethes and ten dayes in Ierusalem: and did euil in the sight of our Lord.stylus46And after a yeare Nabuchodonosor sending brought him into Babylon, together with the sacred vessels of our Lord:stylus47and made Sedecias king of Iurie and Ierusalem, when he was one and twentie yeares old: and he reigned eleuen yeares.stylus48and he did euil in the sight of our Lord, & was not afrayd of the wordes, that were spoken by Ieremie the prophet from the mouth of our Lord.stylus49And being adiured of king Nabuchodonosor, he forsware himself and reuolted, and his necke being hardened and his hart, he transgressed the ordinances of our Lord the God of Israel.stylus50And the princes of the people of our Lord did manie thinges vniustly, and they did impiously aboue al the vncleannesse of al nations, and they polluted the temple of our Lord, which was holy in Ierusalem.stylus51And the God of their fathers sent by his angel to cal them backe, because he spared them and his tabernacle.stylus52But they in their mockinges deluded his angels, and when our Lord spake, they were scoffing at his prophetes:stylus53vntil he being wrath vpon his nation for their impietie, commanded to bring vp the kinges of the Chaldees.stylus54These slew their yong men with the sword, round about the temple of their holie sanctuarie, and they spared not yong man nor virgin, and old man nor childe, but al were deliuered into their handes.stylus55And al the sacred vessels of our Lord, great and smale, and the kinges treasures, they tooke and caried into Babylon.stylus56and they burnt the house of our Lord, and threw downe the walles of Ierusalem, and her towers they burnt with fire.stylus57and they consummate al her glorious thinges, and brought them to naught: and the residue he led into Babylon with the sword.stylus58and they were his seruantes vntil the Persians reigned, for the accomplishment of the word of our Lord in the mouth of Ieremie:stylus59as long as the land quietly kept her sabbathes, al the time of her desolation she sabbathized in the application of seuentie yeares.stylus
