1AND it came to passe after seuen dayse, I dreamed a dreame by night.stylus2And behold, there rose a winde from the sea, that it moued al the waues therof.stylus3And I saw, and behold that man waxed strong with thousands of heauen: and when he turned his countenance to looke, al thinges trembled that were seen vnder him:stylus4and whensoeuer the voice went out of his mouth, al burnt that heard his voice, as the earth resteth when it feeleth the fire.stylus5And I saw after these thinges, and behold there was gathered together a multitude of men, whereof there was no number from the foure winds of heauen, to subdew the man that came vp from the sea.stylus6And I saw, and behold he graued himself a great mountaine, and flew vpon it.stylus7But I sought to see the region or place, whence the montaine was grauen, and I could not.stylus8And after this I saw, and behold al that were gathered to him to fight against him, were sore afrayd, and yet durst fight.stylus9And behold as he saw the violence of the multitude coming, he lifted not vp his hand, nor held sword, nor any instrument of warre,stylus10but onlie I saw that he sent out of his mouth as it were a blast of fire, and out of his lippes a spirit of flame, & out of his tongue he sent forth sparkes and tempest,stylus11and al were mingled together, the blast of fire, and the spirit of flame, & the multitude of the tempest: & it fel vpon the multitude, which was prepared to fight, and burnt them al, so that sodenly nothing was seene of an innumerable multitude, but dust, and smel of smoke: and I saw and was afrayd.stylus12Before I saw the man himself to come downe from the mountaine, and he called to him an other multitude peaceable.stylus13And there came to him the countenance of manie men, some ioyful, and some sorowful, some bound, some bringing them that were offered: and I was sicke for great feare, and awaked, and sayd:stylus14Thou hast shewed to thy seruant these meruels from the beginning, & hast counted me worthie to receiue my prayer:stylus15and now shew me yet the interpretation of this dreame.stylus16For as I thinke in my vnderstanding: Woe to them that shal be left in those dayes: & much more woe to them that are not left.stylus17For they that are not left were heauie.stylus18For I vnderstand the things that are kept for the later dayes, and them that shal chance, but also to them that are left.stylus19Therfore are they come into great perils, & necessities, as these dreames doe shew.stylus20Yet is it easier, for him that suffereth peril to come into these, then to passe as a cloud out of the world, and not to see the thinges that shal happen in the later times. And he answered me, and sayd:stylus21The interpretation of the vision I wil tel thee, & of the things also where of thou requestest I wil open to thee.stylus22Wheras thou hast spoken of them that are left, this is the interpretation.stylus23He that shal take away power shal looke to them that are left, and to the danger, and to the time.stylus24For knowing know he, that they which are left, are more blessed then they that are dead.stylus25These are the interpretations of the vision: Wheras thou sawest the man coming vp from the hart of the sea:stylus26he it is, whom the Highest holdeth manie times, who by himself wil deliuer his creature: and he shal dispose them that are left.stylus27And wheras thou sawest coming out of his mouth a blast, and spirit & tempest.stylus28And that he held not sword, nor instrument of warre, for that his force destroyed the multitude, that came to ouercome him, this is the interpretation.stylus29Behold the dayes come, when the Highest wil begin to deliuer them, that are vpon the earth.stylus30And he shal come to the astonishment of them, that dwel on earth.stylus31And one shal thinke to warre against an other, citie against citie, one place against an other, people against people, and kingdom against kingdom.stylus32And it shal be when these thinges shal come, and the signes shal chance which I shewed thee before, and then shal my sonne be reueled, whom thou sawest as a man ascending.stylus33And it shal be, when al nations shal heare his voice, euerie man shal leaue his region, and warre which they haue one against an other:stylus34and an innumerable multitude shal be gathered together as thou sawest, willing to come, and to ouercome him.stylus35But he shal stand vpon the toppe of mount Sion.stylus36And Sion shal come, and shal be shewed to al prepared and builded, as thou sawest the mountaine grauen without handes.stylus37And my sonne himself shal rebuke the nations, that are come, for their impieties, these that approched to the tempest, & shal vpbraid them their euil cogitations,stylus38and the torments wherwith they shal beginne to be tormented, which are compared to the flame: and he shal destroy them without labour by the law, which is compared to fire.stylus39And wheras thou sawest him gathering to him an other peaceable multitude:stylus40these are the ten tribes, which were captiue out of their land in the dayes of Osee the king, whom Salmanasar the king of the Assyrians led captiue, & transported them beyond the riuer, & they were transported into an other land.stylus41But they gaue themselues this counsel, that leauing the multitude of the nations, they would goe forth into a farder countrie, where neuer man kind dwelt,stylus42that there at the least they might kepe their statutes, which they had not kept in their land.stylus43And they entered by the narrow passages of the riuer Euphrates.stylus44For the Highest at that time wrought signes with them, and held the vaines of the riuer, til they passed.stylus45For through that countrie was a great way to goe, of a yeare and a half: for that region is called Arsareth.stylus46Then they dwelt there vntil the later time, and now when they shal begin to come,stylus47the Highest agayne shal hold the vaines of the riuer, that they may passe, for this cause thou sawest the multitude peaceable.stylus48But they also which are left of thy people, are those that are found within my borders.stylus49It shal te therfore when he shal beginne to deliuer the multitude of them, that are gathered, he shal defend them that are left.stylus50And then shal he shew them manie wonders.stylus51And I sayd: Lord Dominatour, shew me this, for what cause I saw the man coming vp from the hart of the sea.stylus52And he sayd to me: Like as no man can seeke out, or know the thinges that are in the depth of the sea: so can no man vpon earth see my sonne, or them that are with him, but in the time of day.stylus53This is the interpretation of the dreame, which thou sawest, and for this thou onlie art illuminated.stylus54For thou hast forsaken thy thinges, and hast done diligence to my law, and hast searched it.stylus55For thou hast disposed thy life by wisedom, and hast called vnderstanding thy mother.stylus56And therefore I haue shewed thee the rewards with the Highest: for it shal be after other three dayes, I wil tel thee other wordes, and wil declare heauie and meruelous things vnto thee.stylus57And I went forth and passed into the field, praying and praysing the Highest, for the meruels which he did by time,stylus58and because he gouerneth the times, and the thinges that are done in times: and I sate there three dayes.stylus
