What Does Proverbs 15:33 Mean?

This connection is the only thing capable of turning a person away from the deceptive promises of the world. Humility (ana-wah) is described as going before honor (ka-bod), which is a direct reversal of the common human desire for prestige and recognition. The Lord has established a world where the proud are resisted and the humble find a sense of favor and security. This divine order is such that those who seek to exalt themselves eventually reach a breaking point, while those who choose the path of service are eventually vindicated. Integrity is the only path to a lasting respect.

Jesus Christ perfectly embodied the union of wisdom and humility, taking the form of a servant and being obedient even to the point of death on the cross.
