¹The sons of Levi: Gershom, Kohath, and Merari.

²The sons of Kohath: Amram, Izhar, Hebron, and Uzziel.

³The sons of Amram: Aaron, Moses, and Miriam. The sons of Aaron: Nadab and Abihu, Eleazar and Ithamar.

⁴Eleazar conceived Phinehas, and Phinehas conceived Abishua.

⁵Truly, Abishua conceived Bukki, and Bukki conceived Uzzi.

⁶Uzzi conceived Zerahiah, and Zerahiah conceived Meraioth.

⁷Then Meraioth conceived Amariah, and Amariah conceived Ahitub.

⁸Ahitub conceived Zadok, and Zadok conceived Ahimaaz.

⁹Ahimaaz conceived Azariah; Azariah conceived Johanan.

¹⁰Johanan conceived Azariah. He is the one who executed the priestly office in the house that Solomon built in Jerusalem.

¹¹Now Azariah conceived Amariah, and Amariah conceived Ahitub.

¹²Ahitub conceived Zadok, and Zadok conceived Shallum.

¹³Shallum conceived Hilkiah, and Hilkiah conceived Azariah.

¹⁴Azariah conceived Seraiah, and Seraiah conceived Jehozadak.

¹⁵Now Jehozadak departed, when the Lord took away Judah and Jerusalem, by the hands of Nebuchadnezzar.

¹⁶So the sons of Levi were Gershom, Kohath, and Merari.

¹⁷And these are the names of the sons of Gershom: Libni and Shimei.

¹⁸The sons of Kohath: Amram, and Izhar, and Hebron, and Uzziel.

¹⁹The sons of Merari: Mahli and Mushi. And so these are the kindred of Levi, according to their families.

²⁰Of Gershom: Libni his son, Jahath his son, Zimmah his son,

²¹Joah his son, Iddo his son, Zerah his son, Jeatherai his son.

²²The sons of Kohath: Amminadab his son, Korah his son, Assir his son,

²³Elkanah his son, Ebiasaph his son, Assir his son,

²⁴Tahath his son, Uriel his son, Uzziah his son, Shaul his son.

²⁵The sons of Elkanah: Amasai and Ahimoth

²⁶and Elkanah. The sons of Elkanah: Zophai his son, Nahath his son,

²⁷Eliab his son, Jeroham his son, Elkanah his son.

²⁸The sons of Samuel: Vasseni the firstborn, and Abijah.

²⁹Now the sons of Merari were: Mahli, Libni his son, Shimei his son, Uzzah his son,

³⁰Shimea his son, Haggiah his son, Asaiah his son.

³¹These are the ones whom David appointed over the singing men in the house of the Lord, in the place where the ark was located.

³²And they ministered before the tabernacle of the testimony with singing, until Solomon built the house of the Lord in Jerusalem. And they would stand according to their order in the ministry.

³³Truly, these are the ones who were assisting, with their sons, from the sons of Kohath: the singer Heman, the son of Joel, the son of Samuel,

³⁴the son of Elkanah, the son of Jeroham, the son of Eliel, the son of Toah,

³⁵the son of Zuph, the son of Elkanah, the son of Mahath, the son of Amasai,

³⁶the son of Elkanah, the son of Joel, the son of Azariah, the son of Zephaniah,

³⁷the son of Tahath, the son of Assir, the son of Ebiasaph, the son of Korah,

³⁸the son of Izhar, the son of Kohath, the son of Levi, the son of Israel.

³⁹And there was also his brother, Asaph, who was standing at his right, Asaph, the son of Berechiah, the son of Shimea,

⁴⁰the son of Michael, the son of Baaseiah, the son of Malchijah,

⁴¹the son of Ethni, the son of Zerah, the son of Adaiah,

⁴²the son of Ethan, the son of Zimmah, the son of Shimei,

⁴³the son of Jahath, the son of Gershom, the son of Levi.

⁴⁴Now the sons of Merari, their brothers, were on the left: Ethan, the son of Kishi, the son of Abdi, the son of Malluch,

⁴⁵the son of Hashabiah, the son of Amaziah, the son of Hilkiah,

⁴⁶the son of Amzi, the son of Boni, the son of Shemer,

⁴⁷the son of Mahli, the son of Mushi, the son of Merari, the son of Levi.

⁴⁸There were also their brothers, Levites who were appointed for every ministry of the tabernacle of the house of the Lord.

⁴⁹Truly, Aaron and his sons were burning offerings upon the altar of holocausts and upon the altar of incense, for the entire work of the Holy of Holies, and to pray on behalf of Israel, in accord with all the things that Moses, the servant of God, had instructed.

⁵⁰Now these are the sons of Aaron: Eleazar his son, Phinehas his son, Abishua his son,

⁵¹Bukki his son, Uzzi his son, Zerahiah his son,

⁵²Meraioth his son, Amariah his son, Ahitub his son,

⁵³Zadok his son, Ahimaaz his son.

⁵⁴And these are their habitations according to the villages and confines, specifically of the sons of Aaron, according to the kindred of the Kohathites. For it fell to them by lot.

⁵⁵And so, they gave Hebron, in the land of Judah, and its suburbs all around, to them,

⁵⁶but they gave the fields of the city, and the villages, to Caleb, the son of Jephunneh.

⁵⁷Then, to the sons of Aaron, they gave the cities of refuge: Hebron, and Libnah with its suburbs,

⁵⁸also Jattir and Eshtemoa with their suburbs, then also Hilen and Debir with their suburbs,

⁵⁹as well as Ashan and Beth-shemesh with their suburbs.

⁶⁰And from the tribe of Benjamin: Geba with its suburbs, and Alemeth with its suburbs, as well as Anathoth with its suburbs. All the cities throughout their kindred were thirteen.

⁶¹Now to the sons of Kohath, those remaining from their kindred, they gave ten cities, from the one half tribe of Manasseh, as a possession;

⁶²and to the sons of Gershom, according to their families, from the tribe of Issachar, and from the tribe of Asher, and from the tribe of Naphtali, and from the tribe Manasseh in Bashan: thirteen cities.

⁶³Then to the sons of Merari, according to their families, from the tribe of Reuben, and from the tribe of Gad, and from the tribe of Zebulun, they gave by lot twelve cities.

⁶⁴Also, the sons of Israel gave, to the Levites, cities and their suburbs,

⁶⁵and they gave them by lot, out of the tribe of the sons of Judah, and out of the tribe of the sons of Simeon, and out of the tribe of the sons of Benjamin, these cities, which they called by their names.

⁶⁶And for those who were from the kindred of the sons of Kohath, the cities with their borders were from the tribe of Ephraim.

⁶⁷Then they gave to them the cities of refuge: Shechem with its suburbs on mount Ephraim, and Gezer with its suburbs,

⁶⁸as well as Jokmeam with its suburbs, and Beth-horon similarly,

⁶⁹and indeed Hilen with its suburbs, and Gath Rimmon in the same manner.

⁷⁰Then too, out of the one half tribe of Manasseh: Aner and its suburbs, Bileam and its suburbs; these in particular went to those who were remaining from the kindred of the sons of Kohath.

⁷¹And to the sons of Gershom, from the kindred of the one half tribe of Manasseh: Golan, in Bashan, and its suburbs, and Ashtaroth with its suburbs;

⁷²from the tribe of Issachar: Kedesh and its suburbs, and Daberath with its suburbs,

⁷³as well as Ramoth and its suburbs, and Anem with its suburbs;

⁷⁴truly, from the tribe of Asher: Mashal with its suburbs, and Abdon similarly;

⁷⁵as well as Hukkok and its suburbs, and Rehob with its suburbs;

⁷⁶moreover, from the tribe of Naphtali: Kedesh in Galilee and its suburbs, Hammon with its suburbs, and Kiriathaim and its suburbs.

⁷⁷Then to the remaining sons of Merari, from the tribe of Zebulun: Rimmono and its suburbs, and Tabor with its suburbs;

⁷⁸and also, across the Jordan opposite Jericho, facing the east of the Jordan, from the tribe of Reuben: Bezer in the wilderness with its suburbs, and Jahzah with its suburbs;

⁷⁹as well as Kedemoth and its suburbs, and Mephaath with its suburbs;

⁸⁰indeed also, from the tribe of Gad: Ramoth in Gilead and its suburbs, and Mahanaim with its suburbs;

⁸¹then too, Heshbon with its suburbs, and Jazer with its suburbs.

¹The sons of Levi were Gerson, Caath, and Merari.

²The Sons of Caath: Amram, Isaar, Hebron, and Oziel.

³The children of Amram: Aaron, Moses, and Mary. The Sons of Aaron: Nadab and Abiu, Eleazar and Ithamar.

⁴Eleazar begot Phinees, and Phinees begot Abisue,

⁵And Abisue begot Bocci, and Bocci begot Ozi.

⁶Ozi begot Zaraias, and Zaraias begot Maraioth.

⁷And Maraioth begot Amarias, and Amarias begot Achitob.

⁸Achitob begot Sadoc, and Sadoc begot Achimaas.

⁹Achimaas begot Azarias, Azarias begot Johanan,

¹⁰Johanan begot Azarias. This is he that executed the priestly office in the house which Solomon built in Jerusalem.

¹¹And Azarias begot Amarias, and Amarias begot Achitob.

¹²And Achitob begot Sadoc, and Sadoc begot Sellum,

¹³Sellum begot Helcias, and Helcias begot Azarias,

¹⁴Azarias begot Saraias, and Saraias begot Josedec.

¹⁵Now Josedec went out, when the Lord carried away Juda, and Jerusalem, by the hands of Nabuchodonosor.

¹⁶So the sons of Levi were Gerson, Caath, and Merari.

¹⁷And these are the names of the sons of Gerson: Lobni and Semei.

¹⁸The sons of Caath: Amram, and Isaar, and Hebron, and Oziel.

¹⁹The sons of Merari: Moholi and Musi. And these are the kindreds of Levi according to their families.

²⁰Of Gerson: Lobni his son, Jahath his son, Zamma his son,

²¹Joah his son, Addo his son, Zara his son, Jethrai his son.

²²The sons of Caath, Aminadab his son, Core his son, Asir his son,

²³Elcana his son, Abiasaph his son, Asir his son,

²⁴Thahath his son, Uriel his son, Ozias his son, Saul his son.

²⁵The sons of Elcana: Amasai, and Achimoth.

²⁶And Elcana. The sons of Elcana: Sophai his son, Nahath his son,

²⁷Eliab his son, Jeroham his son, Elcana his son.

²⁸The sons of Samuel: the firstborn Vasseni, and Abia.

²⁹And the sons of Merari, Moholi: Lobni his son, Semei his son, Oza his son,

³⁰Sammaa his son, Haggia his son, Asaia his son.

³¹These are they, whom David set over the singing men of the house of the Lord, after that the ark was placed.

³²And they ministered before the tabernacle of the testimony, with singing, until Solomon built the house of the Lord in Jerusalem, and they stood according to their order in the ministry.

³³And these are they that stood with their sons, of the sons of Caath, Hemam a singer, the son of Joel, the son of Sammuel,

³⁴The son of Elcana, the son of Jeroham, the son of Eliel, the son of Thohu,

³⁵The son of Suph, the son of Elcana, the son of Mahath, the son of Amasai,

³⁶The son of Elcana, the son of Johel, the son of Azarias, the son of Sophonias,

³⁷The son of Thahath, the son of Asir, the son of Abiasaph, the son of Core,

³⁸The son of Isaar, the son of Caath, the son of Levi, the son of Israel.

³⁹And his brother Asaph, who stood on his right hand, Asaph the son of Barachias, the son of Samaa.

⁴⁰The son of Michael, the son of Basaia, the, son of Melchia.

⁴¹The son of Athanai, the son of Zara, the son of Adaia.

⁴²The son of Ethan, the son of Zamma, the son of Semei.

⁴³The son of Jeth, the son of Gerson, the son of Levi.

⁴⁴And the sons of Merari their brethren, on the left hand, Ethan the son of Cusi, the son of Abdi, the son of Meloch,

⁴⁵The son of Hasabia, the son of Amasai, the son of Helcias,

⁴⁶The son of Amasai, the son of Boni, the son of Somer,

⁴⁷The son of Moholi, the son of Musi, the son of Merari, the son of Levi.

⁴⁸Their brethren also the Levites, who were appointed for all the ministry of the tabernacle of the house of the Lord.

⁴⁹But Aaron and his sons offered burnt offerings upon the altar of holocausts, and upon the altar of incense, for every work of the holy of holies: and to pray for Israel according to all that Moses the servant of God had commanded.

⁵⁰And these are the sons of Aaron: Eleazar his son, Phinees his son, Abisue his son,

⁵²Meraioth his son, Amarias his son, Achitob his son,

⁵³Sadoc his son, Achimaas his son.

⁵⁴And these are their dwelling places by the towns and confines, to wit, of the sons of Aaron, of the families of the Caathites: for they fell to them by lot.

⁵⁵And they gave them Hebron in the land of Juda, and the suburbs thereof round about:

⁵⁶But the fields of the city, and the villages to Caleb son of Jephone.

⁵⁷And to the sons of Aaron they gave the cities for refuge Hebron, and Lobna, and the suburbs thereof,

⁵⁸And Jether and Esthemo, with their suburbs, and Helon, and Dabir with their suburbs:

⁵⁹Asan also, and Bethsames, with their suburbs.

⁶⁰And out of the tribe of Benjamin: Gabee and its suburbs, Almath with its suburbs, Anathoth also with its suburbs: all their cities throughout their families were thirteen.

⁶¹And to the sons of Caath that remained of their kindred they gave out of the half tribe of Manasses ten cities in possession.

⁶²And to the sons of Gerson by their families out of the tribe of Issachar, and out of the tribe of Aser, and out of the tribe of Nephtali, and out of the tribe Manasses in Basan, thirteen cities.

⁶³And to the sons of Merari by their families out of the tribe of Ruben, and out of the tribe of Gad, and out of the tribe of Zabulon, they gave by lot twelve cities.

⁶⁴And the children of Israel gave to the Levites the cities, and their suburbs.

⁷⁰And out of the half tribe of Manasses, Aner and its suburbs, Baalam and its suburbs, to wit, to them that were left of the family of the sons of Caath.

⁷¹And to the sons of Gersom, out the kindred of the half tribe of Manasses, Gaulon, in Basan, and its suburbs, and Astharoth with its suburbs.

⁷²Out of the tribe of Issachar, Cedes and its suburbs, and Dabereth with its suburbs;

⁷³Ramoth also and its suburbs, and Anem with its suburbs.

⁷⁴And out of the tribe of Aser: Masal with its suburbs, and Abdon in like manner;

⁷⁵Hucac also and its suburbs, and Rohol with its suburbs.

⁷⁶And out of the tribe of Nephtali, Cedes in Galilee and its suburbs, Hamon with its suburbs, and Cariathaim, and its suburbs.

⁷⁷And to the sons of Merari that remained: out of the tribe of Zabulon, Remmono and its suburbs, and Thabor with its suburbs.

⁷⁸Beyond the Jordan also over against Jericho, on the east side of the Jordan and out of the tribe of Ruben, Bosor in the wilderness with its suburbs, and Jassa with its suburbs;

⁷⁹Cademoth also and its suburbs, and Mephaath with its suburbs;

⁸⁰Moreover also out of the tribe of Gad, Ramoth in Galaad and its suburbs, and Manaim with its suburbs;

⁸¹Hesebon also with its suburbs, and Jazer with its suburbs.
