I Chronicles 2

¹And the sons of Israel: Reuben, Simeon, Levi, Judah, Issachar, and Zebulun,

²Dan, Joseph, Benjamin, Naphtali, Gad, and Asher.

³The sons of Judah: Er, Onan, and Shelah. These three were born to him from the daughter of Shua, the Canaanite. But Er, the firstborn of Judah, was evil in the sight of the Lord, and so he killed him.

⁴Now Tamar, his daughter-in-law, bore to him Perez and Zerah. Therefore, all the sons of Judah were five.

⁵And the sons of Perez: Hezron and Hamul.

⁶Also, the sons of Zerah: Zimri, and Ethan, and Heman, as well as Calcol and Dara, five altogether.

⁷The sons of Carmi: Achar, who disturbed Israel and sinned by the theft of what was anathema.

⁸The sons of Ethan: Azariah.

⁹And the sons of Hezron who were born to him: Jerahmeel, and Ram, and Chelubai.

¹⁰Then Ram conceived Amminadab. And Amminadab conceived Nahshon, a leader of the sons of Judah.

¹¹Also, Nahshon conceived Salma, from whom Boaz rose up.

¹²Truly, Boaz conceived Obed, who also himself conceived Jesse.

¹³Now Jesse conceived the firstborn Eliab, the second Abinadab, the third Shammah,

¹⁴the fourth Nethanel, the fifth Raddai,

¹⁵the sixth Ozem, the seventh David.

¹⁶Their sisters were Zeruiah and Abigail. The sons of Zeruiah: Abishai, Joab, and Asahel, three.

¹⁷And Abigail conceived Amasa, whose father was Jether, the Ishmaelite.

¹⁸Truly, Caleb, the son of Hezron, took a wife named Azubah, of whom he conceived Jerioth. And her sons were Jesher, and Shobab, and Ardon.

¹⁹And when Azubah had died, Caleb took as wife Ephratha, who bore to him Hur.

²⁰Now Hur conceived Uri. And Uri conceived Bezalel.

²¹And afterwards, Hezron entered to the daughter of Machir, father of Gilead. And he took her when he was sixty years old. And she bore to him Segub.

²²And then Segub conceived Jair, and he possessed twenty-three cities in the land of Gilead.

²³And he seized Geshur and Aram, towns of Jair, and Kenath and its villages, sixty cities. All these were sons of Machir, father of Gilead.

²⁴Then, when Hezron had died, Caleb entered to Ephratha. Also, Hezron had as wife Abia, who bore to him Ashhur, the father of Tekoa.

²⁵Now sons were born to Jerahmeel, the firstborn of Hezron: Ram, his firstborn, and Bunah, and Oren, and Ozem, and Ahijah.

²⁶Jerahmeel also married another wife, named Atarah, who was the mother of Onam.

²⁷Then too, the sons of Ram, the firstborn of Jerahmeel, were Maaz, Jamin, and Eker.

²⁸And Onam had sons: Shammai and Jada. And the sons of Shammai: Nadab and Abishur.

²⁹Truly, the name of the wife of Abishur was Abihail, who bore to him Ahban and Molid.

³⁰Now the sons of Nadab were Seled and Appaim. And Seled died without children.

³¹Truly, the son of Appaim was Ishi. And Ishi conceived Sheshan. Then Sheshan conceived Ahlai.

³²But the sons of Jada, the brother of Shammai, were Jether and Jonathan. Then Jether also died without children.

³³And Jonathan conceived Peleth and Zaza. These were the sons of Jerahmeel.

³⁴Now Sheshan did not have sons, but only daughters, and an Egyptian servant named Jarha.

³⁵And so he gave to him his daughter as wife, who bore to him Attai.

³⁶Then Attai conceived Nathan, and Nathan conceived Zabad.

³⁷Also, Zabad conceived Ephlal, and Ephlal conceived Obed.

³⁸Obed conceived Jehu; Jehu conceived Azariah.

³⁹Azariah conceived Helez, and Helez conceived Eleasah.

⁴⁰Eleasah conceived Sismai; Sismai conceived Shallum.

⁴¹Shallum conceived Jekamiah; then Jekamiah conceived Elishama.

⁴²And the sons of Caleb, the brother of Jerahmeel, were Mesha, his firstborn, who was the father of Ziph, and the sons of Mesha, the father of Hebron.

⁴³Now the sons of Hebron were Korah, and Tapuah, and Rekem, and Shema.

⁴⁴Then Shema conceived Raham, the father of Jorkeam. And Rekem conceived Shammai.

⁴⁵The son of Shammai was Maon, and Maon was the father of Bethzur.

⁴⁶Now Ephah, the concubine of Caleb, bore Haran, and Moza, and Gazez. And Haran conceived Gazez.

⁴⁷And the sons of Jahdai: Regem, and Jotham, and Geshan, and Pelet, and Ephah, and Shaaph.

⁴⁸And Maacah, the concubine of Caleb, bore Sheber and Tirhanah.

⁴⁹Then Shaaph, the father of Madmannah, conceived Sheva, the father of Machbenah, and the father of Gibea. Truly, the daughter of Caleb was Achsah.

⁵⁰These were the sons of Caleb, the son of Hur, the firstborn of Ephratha: Shobal, the father of Kiriath-jearim;

⁵¹Salma, the father of Bethlehem; Hareph, the father of Bethgader.

⁵²Now there were sons for Shobal, the father of Kiriath-jearim, who saw half the places of rest.

⁵³And from the kindred of Kiriath-jearim: the Ithrites, and the Puthites, and the Shumathites, and the Mishraites. From these, the Zorathites and the Eshtaolites went forth.

⁵⁴The sons of Salma: Bethlehem, and the Netophathites, the crowns of the house of Joab, and half the places of rest of the Zorathites,

⁵⁵as well as the families of the scribes living in Jabesh, those singing and making music, and those dwelling in tents. These are the Kenites, who went forth from Calor, the father of the house of Rechab.

¹²And Booz begot Obed, and Obed begot Isai.

¹³And Isai begot Eliab his firstborn, the second Abinadab, the third Simmaa,

¹⁴The fourth, Nathanael, the fifth Raddai,

¹⁵The sixth Asom, the seventh David.

¹⁶And their sisters were Sarvia, and Abigail. The sons of Sarvia: Abisai, Joab, and Asael, three.

¹⁷And Abigail bore Amasa, whose father was Jether the Ismahelite.

¹⁸And Caleb the son of Hesron took a wife named Azuba, of whom he had Jerioth: and her sons were Jaser, and Sobab, and Ardon.

¹⁹And when Azuba was dead, Caleb took to wife Ephrata: who bore him Hur.

²⁰And Hur begot Uri: and Uri begot Bezeleel.

²¹And afterwards Hesron went in to the daughter of Machir the father of Galaad, and took her to wife when he was threescore years old: and she bore him Segub.

²²And Segub begot Jair, and he had three and twenty cities in the land of Galaad.

²³And he took Gessur, and Aram the towns of Jair, and Canath, and the villages thereof, threescore cities. All these, the sons of Machir father of Galaad.

²⁴And when Hesron was dead, Caleb went in to Ephrata. Hesron also had to wife Abia who bore him Ashur the father of Thecua.

²⁵And the sons of Jerameel the firstborn of Hesron, were Ram his firstborn, and Buna, and Aram, and Asom, and Achia.

²⁶And Jerameel married another wife, named Atara, who was the mother of Onam.

²⁷And the sons of Ram the firstborn of Jerameel, were Moos, Jamin, and Achar.

²⁸And Onam had sons Semei, and Jada. And the sons of Semei: Nadab, and Abisur.

²⁹And the name of Abisur's wife was Abihail, who bore him Ahobban, and Molid.

³⁰And the sons of Nadab were Saled and Apphaim. And Saled died without children.

³¹But the son of Apphaim was Jesi: and Jesi begot Sesan. And Sesan begot Oholai.

³²And the sons of Jada the brother of Semei: Jether and Jonathan. And Jether also died without children.

³³But Jonathan begot Phaleth, and Ziza. These were the sons of Jerameel.

³⁴And Sesan had no sons, but daughters and a servant an Egyptian, named Jeraa.

³⁵And he gave him his daughter to wife: and she bore him Ethei.

³⁶And Ethei begot Nathan, and Nathan begot Zabad.

³⁷And Zabad begot Ophlal, and Ophlal begot Obed.

³⁸Obed begot Jehu, Jehu begot Azarias.

³⁹Azarias begot Helles, and Helles begot Elasa.

⁴⁰Elasa begot Sisamoi, Sisamoi begot Sellum,

⁴¹Sellum begot Icamia, and Icamia begot Elisama.

⁴²Now the sons of Caleb the brother of Jerameel were Mesa his firstborn, who was the father of Siph: and the sons of Maresa father of Hebron.

⁴³And the sons of Hebron, Core, and Thaphua, and Recem, and Samma.

⁴⁴And Samma begot Raham, the father of Jercaam, and Recem begot Sammai.

⁴⁵The son of Sammai, Maon: and Maon the father of Bethsur.

⁴⁶And Epha the concubine of Caleb bore Haran, and Mosa, and Gezez. And Haran begot Gezez.

⁴⁷And the sons of Jahaddai, Rogom, and Joathan, and Gesan, and Phalet, and Epha, and Saaph.

⁴⁸And Maacha the concubine of Caleb bore Saber, and Tharana.

⁴⁹And Saaph the father of Madmena begot Sue the father of Machbena, and the father of Gabaa. And the daughter of Caleb was Achsa.

⁵⁰These were the sons of Caleb, the son of Hur the firstborn of Ephrata, Sobal the father of Cariathiarim.

⁵¹Salma the father of Bethlehem, Hariph the father of Bethgader.

⁵²And Sobal the father of Cariathiarim had sons: he that saw half of the places of rest.

⁵³And of the kindred of Cariathiarim, the Jethrites, and Aphuthites, and Semathites, and Maserites. Of them came the Saraites, and Esthaolites.

⁵⁴The sons of Salma, Bethlehem, and Netophathi, the crowns of the house of Joab, and half of the place of rest of Sarai.

⁵⁵And the families of the scribes that dwell in Jabes, singing and making melody, and abiding in tents. These are the Cinites, who came of Calor (Chamath) father of the house of Rechab.
