¹Adam, Seth, Enos,

²Cainan, Mahalalel, Jared,

³Enoch, Methuselah, Lamech,

⁴Noah, Shem, Ham, and Japheth.

⁵The sons of Japheth: Gomer, and Magog, and Madai, and Javan, Tubal, Meshech, Tiras.

⁶And the sons of Gomer: Ashkenaz, and Riphath, and Togarmah.

⁷And the sons of Javan: Elishah and Tarshish, Kittim and Rodanim.

⁸The sons of Ham: Cush, and Mizraim, and Put, and Canaan.

⁹And the sons of Cush: Seba, and Havilah, Sabtah, and Raamah, and Sabteca. And the sons of Raamah: Sheba and Dadan.

¹⁰Then Cush conceived Nimrod, and he began to be powerful upon the earth.

¹¹Truly, Mizraim conceived Ludim, and Anamim, and Lehabim, and Naphtuhim,

¹²as well as Pathrusim and Casluhim: from these the Philistines and the Caphtorim went forth.

¹³Truly, Canaan conceived Sidon, his firstborn, as well as the Hittite,

¹⁴and the Jebusite, and the Amorite, and the Girgashite,

¹⁵and the Hivite, and the Arkite, and the Sinite,

¹⁶and also the Arvadian, and the Samarite, and the Hamathite.

¹⁷The sons of Shem: Elam, and Asshur, and Arphaxad, and Lud, and Aram, and Uz, and Hul, and Gether, and Meshech.

¹⁸Then Arphaxad conceived Shelah, who also himself conceived Eber.

¹⁹And to Eber were born two sons. The name of one was Peleg, because in his days the earth was divided. And the name of his brother was Joktan.

²⁰Then Joktan conceived Almodad, and Sheleph, and Hazarmaveth, and Jerah,

²¹as well as Hadoram, and Uzal, and Diklah,

²²and then Obal, and Abimael, and Sheba, indeed

²³also Ophir, and Havilah, and Jobab. All these are the sons of Joktan.

²⁴Shem, Arphaxad, Shelah,

²⁵Eber, Peleg, Reu,

²⁶Serug, Nahor, Terah,

²⁷Abram, the same is Abraham.

²⁸And the sons of Abraham: Isaac and Ishmael.

²⁹And these are their generations: the firstborn of Ishmael, Nebaioth, and then Kedar, and Adbeel, and Mibsam,

³⁰and Mishma, and Dumah, Massa, Hadad, and Tema,

³¹Jetur, Naphish, Kedemah. These are the sons of Ishmael.

³²And the sons of Keturah, the concubine of Abraham, whom she conceived: Zimran, Jokshan, Medan, Midian, Ishbak, and Shuah. And the sons of Jokshan: Sheba and Dedan. And the sons of Dedan: Asshurim, and Letushim, and Leummim.

³³And the sons of Midian: Ephah, and Epher, and Hanoch, and Abida, and Eldaah. All these are the sons of Keturah.

³⁴Now Abraham conceived Isaac, whose sons were Esau and Israel.

³⁵The sons of Esau: Eliphaz, Reuel, Jeush, Jalam, and Korah.

³⁶The sons of Eliphaz: Teman, Omar, Zepho, Gatam, Kenez, and by Timna, Amalek.

³⁷The sons of Reuel: Nahath, Zerah, Shammah, Mizzah.

³⁸The sons of Seir: Lotan, Shobal, Zibeon, Anah, Dishon, Ezer, Dishan.

³⁹The sons of Lotan: Hori, Heman. Now the sister of Lotan was Timna.

⁴⁰The sons of Shobal: Alian, and Manahath, and Ebal, Shephi, and Onam. The sons of Zibeon: Aiah and Anah. The sons of Anah: Dishon.

⁴¹The sons of Dishon: Hamran, and Esheban, and Ithran, and Cheran.

⁴²The sons of Ezer: Bilhan, and Zaavan, and Akan. The sons of Dishan: Uz and Aran.

⁴³Now these are the kings who reigned in the land of Edom, before there was a king over the sons of Israel: Bela, the son of Beor; and the name of his city was Dinhabah.

⁴⁴Then Bela died, and Jobab, the son of Zerah, from Bozrah, reigned in his place.

⁴⁵And when Jobab also had died, Husham, from the land of the Temanites, reigned in his place.

⁴⁶Then Husham also passed away, and Hadad, the son of Bedad, reigned in his place. And he struck the Midianites in the land of Moab. The name of his city was Avith.

⁴⁷And when Hadad also had died, Samlah from Masrekah reigned in his place.

⁴⁸Then Samlah also died, and Shaul from Rehoboth, which is situated beside a river, reigned in his place.

⁴⁹Shaul also having died, Baal-hanan, the son of Achbor, reigned in his place.

⁵⁰Then he too died, and Hadar reigned in his place. And the name of his city was Pau. And his wife was called Mehetabel, the daughter of Matred, the daughter of Mezahab.

⁵¹And Hadar having died, there began to be commanders in Edom in place of kings: commander Thamna, commander Alvah, commander Jetheth,

⁵²commander Oholibamah, commander Elah, commander Pinon,

⁵³commander Kanez, commander Teman, commander Mibzar,

⁵⁴commander Magdiel, commander Iram. These are the commanders of Edom.

¹⁰Now Chus begot Nemrod: he began to be mighty upon earth.

¹¹But Mesraim begot Ludim, and Anamim, and Laabim, and Nephtuim,

¹²Phetrusim also, and Casluim: from whom came the Philistines, and Caphtorim.

¹³And Chanaan begot Sidon his firstborn, and the Hethite,

¹⁴And the Jebusite, and the Amorrhite, and the Gergesite,

¹⁶And the Aradian, and the Samarite, and the Hamathite.

¹⁸And Arphaxad begot Sale, and Sale begot Heber.

¹⁹And to Heber were born two sons, the name of the one was Phaleg, because in his days the earth was divided; and the name of his brother was Jectan.

²⁰And Jectan begot Elmodad, and Saleph, and Asarmoth, and Jare,

²¹And Adoram, and Usal, and Decla,

²²And Hebal, and Abimael, and Saba,

²³And Ophir, and Hevila, and Jobab. All these are the sons of Jectan.

²⁴Sem, Arphaxad, Sale,

²⁵Heber, Phaleg, Ragau,

²⁶Serug, Nachor, Thare,

²⁷Abram, this is Abraham.

²⁸And the sons of Abraham, Isaac and Ismahel.

²⁹And these are the generations of them. The firstborn of Ismahel, Nabajoth, then Cedar, and Adbeel, and Mabsam,

³⁰And Masma, and Duma, Massa, Hadad, and Thema,

³¹Jetur, Naphis, Cedma: these are the sons of Ismahel.

³²And the sons of Cetura, Abraham's concubine, whom she bore: Zamran, Jecsan, Madan, Madian, Jesboc, and Sue. And the sons of Jecsan, Saba, and Dadan. And the sons of Dadan: Assurim, and Latussim, and Laomin.

³³And the sons of Madian: Epha, and Epher, and Henoch, and Abida, and Eldaa. All these are the sons of Cetura.

³⁴And Abraham begot Isaac: and his sons were Esau and Israel.

³⁵The sons of Esau: Eliphaz, Rahuel, Jehus, Ihelom, and Core.

³⁶The sons of Eliphaz: Theman, Omar, Sephi, Gathan, Cenez, and by Thamna, Amalec.

³⁸The sons of Seir: Lotan, Sobal, Sebeon, Ana, Dison, Eser, Disan.

³⁹The sons of Lotan: Hori, Homam. And the sister of Lotan was Thamna.

⁴⁰The sons of Sobal: Alian, and Manahath, and Ebal, Sephi, and Onam. The sons of Sebeon: Aia, and Ana. The son of Ana: Dison.

⁴¹The sons of Dison: Hamram, and Eseban, and Jethran, and Charan.

⁴²The sons of Eser: Balaan, and Zavan, and Jacan. The sons of Disan: Hus and Aran.

⁴³Now these are the kings that reigned in the land of Edom, before there was a king over the children of Israel: Bale the son of Beor: and the name of his city was Denaba.

⁴⁴And Bale died, and Jobab the son of Zare of Bosra, reigned in his stead.

⁴⁵And when Jobab also was dead, Husam of the land of the Themanites reigned in his stead.

⁴⁶And Husam also died, and Adad the son of Badad reigned in his stead, and he defeated the Madianites in the land of Moab: the name of his city was Avith.

⁴⁷And when Adad also was dead, Semla of Masreca reigned in his stead.

⁴⁸Semla also died, and Saul of Rohoboth, which is near the river, reigned in his stead.

⁴⁹And when Saul was dead, Balanan the son of Achobor reigned in his stead.

⁵⁰He also died, and Adad reigned in his stead: and the name of his city was Phau, and his wife was called Meetabel the daughter of Matred, the daughter of Mezaab.

⁵¹And after the death of Adad, there began to be dukes in Edom instead of kings: duke Thamna, duke Alva, duke Jetheth,

⁵²Duke Oolibama, duke Ela, duke Phinon,

⁵³Duke Cenez, duke Theman, duke Mabsar,

⁵⁴Duke Magdiel, duke Hiram. These are the dukes of Edom.
