NUMBERS

Numbers 21

1The Canaanite, the king of Arad, who lived in the Negev, heard tell that Israel came by the way of Atharim; and he fought against Israel, and took some of them captive.
Numbers 33:40, Judges 1:16, Numbers 33:40, Judges 1:16, Joshua 12:14
2Israel vowed a vow to the Lord, and said, "If you will indeed deliver this people into my hand, then I will utterly destroy their cities."
Judges 11:30, Genesis 28:20, Judges 11:30, Genesis 28:20, Joshua 6:26
3The Lord listened to the voice of Israel, and delivered up the Canaanites; and they utterly destroyed them and their cities: and the name of the place was called Hormah.
Numbers 14:45, Numbers 14:45, Deuteronomy 1:44, Deuteronomy 1:44, 1 Samuel 30:30
4They traveled from Mount Hor by the way to the Red Sea, to compass the land of Edom: and the soul of the people was much discouraged because of the way.
Exodus 6:9, Exodus 6:9, Judges 11:18, Judges 11:18, Numbers 32:7
5The people spoke against God, and against Moses, "Why have you brought us up out of Egypt to die in the wilderness? For there is no bread, and there is no water; and our soul loathes this light bread."
Psalms 78:19, Psalms 78:19, Numbers 16:41, Exodus 17:2, Exodus 17:3
6The Lord sent fiery serpents among the people, and they bit the people; and many people of Israel died.
1 Corinthians 10:9, 1 Corinthians 10:9, Jeremiah 8:17, Jeremiah 8:17, Deuteronomy 8:15
7The people came to Moses, and said, "We have sinned, because we have spoken against the Lord, and against you. Pray to the Lord, that he take away the serpents from us." Moses prayed for the people.
Acts 8:24, Acts 8:24, Psalms 78:34, Numbers 11:2, Exodus 8:8
8The Lord said to Moses, "Make a fiery serpent, and set it on a standard: and it shall happen, that everyone who is bitten, when he sees it, shall live."
John 3:14, John 3:14, Psalms 106:43, Psalms 106:45, Psalms 106:43
9Moses made a serpent of brass, and set it on the standard: and it happened, that if a serpent had bitten any man, when he looked to the serpent of brass, he lived.
John 3:14, John 3:15, John 3:14, John 3:15, Hebrews 12:2
10The children of Israel traveled, and encamped in Oboth.
Numbers 33:43, Numbers 33:45, Numbers 33:43, Numbers 33:45
11They traveled from Oboth, and encamped at Iyeabarim, in the wilderness which is before Moab, toward the sunrise.
12From there they traveled, and encamped in the valley of Zered.
Deuteronomy 2:13, Deuteronomy 2:14, Deuteronomy 2:13, Deuteronomy 2:14
13From there they traveled, and encamped on the other side of the Arnon, which is in the wilderness, that comes out of the border of the Amorites: for the Arnon is the border of Moab, between Moab and the Amorites.
Numbers 22:36, Judges 11:18, Numbers 22:36, Judges 11:18, Jeremiah 48:20
14Therefore it is said in the book of the Wars of the Lord, "Vaheb in Suphah, the valleys of the Arnon,
Joshua 10:13, 2 Samuel 1:18, Joshua 10:13, 2 Samuel 1:18
15the slope of the valleys that incline toward the dwelling of Ar, leans on the border of Moab."
Deuteronomy 2:9, Numbers 21:28, Deuteronomy 2:18, Deuteronomy 2:9, Numbers 21:28
16From there they traveled to Beer: that is the well of which the Lord said to Moses, "Gather the people together, and I will give them water."
Numbers 20:8, Numbers 20:8, Isaiah 12:3, Isaiah 41:17, Isaiah 41:18
17Then sang Israel this song: "Spring up, well; sing to it:
Judges 5:1, Isaiah 12:5, Psalms 105:2, Psalms 106:12, Isaiah 12:1
18the well, which the princes dug, which the nobles of the people dug, with the scepter, and with their poles." From the wilderness they traveled to Mattanah;
Isaiah 33:22, Isaiah 33:22, 1 Timothy 6:17, 1 Timothy 6:18, Deuteronomy 33:4
19and from Mattanah to Nahaliel; and from Nahaliel to Bamoth;
20and from Bamoth to the valley that is in the field of Moab, to the top of Pisgah, which looks down on the desert.
Numbers 23:28, Numbers 23:28, Numbers 23:14, Numbers 26:63, Deuteronomy 1:5
21Israel sent messengers to Sihon king of the Amorites, saying,
Deuteronomy 2:26, Deuteronomy 2:28, Judges 11:19, Judges 11:21, Deuteronomy 2:26
22"Let me pass through your land: we will not turn aside into field, or into vineyard; we will not drink of the water of the wells: we will go by the king's highway, until we have passed your border."
Numbers 20:17, Numbers 20:17
23Sihon would not allow Israel to pass through his border: but Sihon gathered all his people together, and went out against Israel into the wilderness, and came to Jahaz; and he fought against Israel.
Judges 11:20, Judges 11:20, Deuteronomy 29:7, Deuteronomy 29:8, Deuteronomy 29:7
24Israel struck him with the edge of the sword, and possessed his land from the Arnon to the Jabbok, even to the children of Ammon; for the border of the children of Ammon was strong.
Amos 2:9, Amos 2:9, Genesis 32:22, Psalms 136:19, Nehemiah 9:22
25Israel took all these cities: and Israel lived in all the cities of the Amorites, in Heshbon, and in all its towns.
Numbers 21:31, Jeremiah 48:45, Isaiah 16:8, Isaiah 16:9, Deuteronomy 2:12
26For Heshbon was the city of Sihon the king of the Amorites, who had fought against the former king of Moab, and taken all his land out of his hand, even to the Arnon.
27Therefore those who speak in proverbs say, "Come to Heshbon. Let the city of Sihon be built and established;
Habakkuk 2:6, Isaiah 14:4, Numbers 21:14, Habakkuk 2:6, Isaiah 14:4
28for a fire has gone out of Heshbon, a flame from the city of Sihon. It has devoured Ar of Moab, The lords of the high places of the Arnon.
Numbers 21:15, Numbers 21:15, Jeremiah 48:45, Jeremiah 48:46, Jeremiah 48:45
29Woe to you, Moab! You are undone, people of Chemosh! He has given his sons as fugitives, and his daughters into captivity, to Sihon king of the Amorites.
Jeremiah 48:46, Judges 11:24, 2 Kings 23:13, Jeremiah 48:46, Judges 11:24
30We have shot at them. Heshbon has perished even to Dibon. We have laid waste even to Nophah, Which reaches to Medeba."
Isaiah 15:2, Jeremiah 48:18, Isaiah 15:2, Jeremiah 48:18, Jeremiah 48:22
31Thus Israel lived in the land of the Amorites.
Joshua 12:1, Joshua 12:6, Deuteronomy 3:16, Deuteronomy 3:17, Numbers 32:33
32Moses sent to spy out Jazer; and they took its towns, and drove out the Amorites who were there.
Jeremiah 48:32, Numbers 32:1, Jeremiah 48:32, Numbers 32:1, Numbers 32:35
33They turned and went up by the way of Bashan: and Og the king of Bashan went out against them, he and all his people, to battle at Edrei.
Joshua 13:12, Joshua 13:12, Deuteronomy 1:4, Deuteronomy 29:7, Deuteronomy 1:4
34The Lord said to Moses, "Do not fear him: for I have delivered him into your hand, and all his people, and his land; and you shall do to him as you did to Sihon king of the Amorites, who lived at Heshbon."
Deuteronomy 3:2, Deuteronomy 3:3, Joshua 8:7, Numbers 21:24, Numbers 21:25
35So they struck him, and his sons and all his people, until there was none left him remaining: and they possessed his land.
Deuteronomy 3:3, Deuteronomy 3:17, Joshua 13:12, Psalms 135:10, Psalms 135:12
