I SAMUEL

I Samuel 7

1The men of Kiriath Jearim came, and fetched up the ark of the Lord, and brought it into the house of Abinadab in the hill, and sanctified Eleazar his son to keep the ark of the Lord.

2It happened, from the day that the ark stayed in Kiriath Jearim, that the time was long; for it was twenty years: and all the house of Israel lamented after the Lord.
Matthew 5:4, Jeremiah 31:9, Jeremiah 3:22, Jeremiah 3:25, Judges 2:4
3Samuel spoke to all the house of Israel, saying, "If you do return to the Lord with all your heart, then put away the foreign gods and the Ashtaroth from among you, and direct your hearts to the Lord, and serve him only; and he will deliver you out of the hand of the Philistines."
Luke 4:8, Luke 4:8, Deuteronomy 13:4, Deuteronomy 13:4, Matthew 4:10
4Then the children of Israel removed the Baals and the Ashtaroth, and served the Lord only.
Hosea 14:8, Hosea 14:8, Hosea 14:3, Hosea 14:3, Judges 10:15
5Samuel said, "Gather all Israel to Mizpah, and I will pray for you to the Lord."
Judges 20:1, Judges 20:1, Joshua 15:38, 1 Samuel 7:16, 1 Samuel 7:12
6They gathered together to Mizpah, and drew water, and poured it out before the Lord, and fasted on that day, and said there, "We have sinned against the Lord." Samuel judged the children of Israel in Mizpah.
1 Samuel 1:15, 2 Samuel 14:14, 1 Samuel 1:15, 2 Samuel 14:14, Judges 10:10
7When the Philistines heard that the children of Israel were gathered together at Mizpah, the lords of the Philistines went up against Israel. When the children of Israel heard it, they were afraid of the Philistines.
1 Samuel 17:11, 1 Samuel 17:11, 1 Samuel 13:6, 1 Samuel 13:6, Exodus 14:10
8The children of Israel said to Samuel, "Do not cease to cry to the Lord our God for us, that he will save us out of the hand of the Philistines."
Isaiah 37:4, Isaiah 37:4, James 5:16, 1 Samuel 12:19, 1 Samuel 12:24
9Samuel took a suckling lamb, and offered it for a whole burnt offering to the Lord: and Samuel cried to the Lord for Israel; and the Lord answered him.
Jeremiah 15:1, Jeremiah 15:1, Psalms 99:6, Psalms 99:6, 1 Samuel 7:17
10As Samuel was offering up the burnt offering, the Philistines drew near to battle against Israel; but the Lord thundered with a great thunder on that day on the Philistines, and confused them; and they were struck down before Israel.
1 Samuel 2:10, 1 Samuel 2:10, 1 Samuel 12:17, Joshua 10:10, Judges 5:20
11The men of Israel went out of Mizpah, and pursued the Philistines, and struck them, until they came under Beth Kar.
12Then Samuel took a stone, and set it between Mizpah and Shen, and called its name Ebenezer, saying, "The Lord helped us until now."
2 Corinthians 1:10, 2 Corinthians 1:10, Joshua 4:9, Joshua 4:9, Acts 26:22
13So the Philistines were subdued, and they came no more within the territory of Israel. The hand of the Lord was against the Philistines all the days of Samuel.

14The cities which the Philistines had taken from Israel were restored to Israel, from Ekron even to Gath; and Israel recovered its territory out of the hand of the Philistines. There was peace between Israel and the Amorites.
