Genesis 3:19
"in sudore vultus tui vesceris pane donec revertaris in terram de qua sumptus es quia pulvis es et in pulverem reverteris"

By the sweat of your brow you will eat your food until you return to the ground, since from it you were taken; for dust you are and to dust you will return. Ash Wednesday reminds us of our mortality. We are fragile. We are dust held together by God's breath.

Lord of Life, remember that I am dust. I humble myself before You today. My life is short; help me to live it for what is eternal. Amen.
