The doorway for the lowest side chambers is on the right side of the temple, and they go up by winding stairs into the middle story, and from the middle into the third. The winding staircase connects the three levels of side chambers, providing access from floor to floor through a single vertical passage. The placement on the right (south) side of the temple locates the functional entrance away from the main western entrance, separating the priestly infrastructure from the liturgical approach.

The spiral staircase is a practical solution to vertical circulation in a narrow space, but it also creates a controlled pathway: access to the upper chambers requires ascending through the lower ones, and the journey upward is sequential rather than direct. The architecture enforces a progression: one cannot reach the third story without passing through the first and second, and the layered access mirrors the layered sanctity of the temple itself.

Jesus said to Nathanael, "You shall see heaven open, and the angels of God ascending and descending upon the Son of Man" (John 1:51).
