Psalms 126 Comparison: American Standard Version vs Young's Literal Translation

chevron_leftchevron_right

Psalms 126

1When Jehovah brought back those that returned to Zion, We were like unto them that dream.

2Then was our mouth filled with laughter, And our tongue with singing: Then said they among the nations, Jehovah hath done great things for them.

3Jehovah hath done great things for us, Whereofwe are glad.

4Turn again our captivity, O Jehovah, As the streams in the South.

5They that sow in tears shall reap in joy.

6He that goeth forth and weepeth, bearing seed for sowing, Shall doubtless come again with joy, bringing his sheaves with him.

Psalms 126

1A Song of the Ascents. In Jehovah's turning back to the captivity of Zion, We have been as dreamers.

2Then filled with laughter is our mouth, And our tongue with singing, Then do they say among nations, `Jehovah did great things with these.'

3Jehovah did great things with us, We have been joyful.

4Turn again, O Jehovah, to our captivity, As streams in the south.

5Those sowing in tears, with singing do reap,

6Whoso goeth on and weepeth, Bearing the basket of seed, Surely cometh in with singing, bearing his sheaves!
