Isaiah 40:3

Prepare the way for the Lord. In ancient times, roads were smoothed out for arriving kings. Advent is a time of spiritual roadwork. What stumbling blocks—pride, bitterness, distraction—need to be cleared from your heart so the King of Glory may enter? The path to His presence is paved with repentance and humility.

Lord, clear the debris from my heart. I want nothing to hinder Your arrival in my life. Make my crooked paths straight and prepare me to receive You fully. Amen.
