Amnon was the firstborn son of King David and Ahinoam of Jezreel, making him the crown prince of Israel. His life, however, became a dark milestone in the moral disintegration of David's family. Consumed by an obsessive 'love' for his half-sister Tamar, he acted on the advice of his cousin Jonadab to deceive David and trap Tamar in his room.
